5.3 Process Arrangement of Coke Plant

5.3.1 The coke plant arrangement shall be determined according to coke oven type,oven numbers and coke oven machinery configuration.

5.3.2 The longitudinal axis of the coke oven batteries should be at minimum angle to the local prevailing wind direction.

5.3.3 One coke oven battery should consist of two coke ovens.

5.3.4 For bigger scale projects,provided the general layout allows,two or more coke oven batteries shall be aligned on the same center line with a big intermediate bench between the two batteries.

5.3.5 The two coke ovens which form one battery shall be built with one coal tower in between.The coal tower shall be provided with hyperbolic-shape bunker gate,with effective storage capacity for continuous production of the two coke ovens for 8-16 hours.

5.3.6 The stamp charging coke oven shall be built with a coal tower on pusher side.

5.3.7 The top-chargingcoke oven shall be built with intermediate bench between the coke oven and coal tower.

5.3.8 Coke oven battery shall have end benches at both ends of the battery.

5.3.9 The coke oven shall be built with operating benches on pusher side and coke side.

5.3.10 Wet quenching system shall be arranged beyond end bench of the battery.The center line of quenching tower should have a distance to that of the end coking chamber more than 40m and meet the requirement of operating bench arrangement on coke side.

5.3.11 The wet quenching system and C.D.Q system should be arranged at both ends of the battery respectively.

5.3.12 Electric locomotive,quenching car or coke bucket car shall be provided with facilities for spare parts storage and maintenance.

5.3.13 Coke oven chimney may be arranged on pusher side or coke side or beyond end bench.

5.3.14 Each parking area for quenching car shall be provided with enough space for stacking one oven of hot coke on coke wharf,with cooling time no less than 30 min.

5.3.15 The elevation of top slab of coke oven foundation shall be determined to ensure good ventilation in the coke oven cellar.
