Foreword

Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway put to use in 2011,as the railway of the highest standard,largest scale and longest one-stage completion in the world,is the largest project in infrastructure construction since the foundation of People’s Republic of China.Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway is a grand transport channel penetrating eastern developed regions,running through four provinces and three cities like Bejing,Hebei,Tianjin,Shandong,Jiangsu,Anhui and Shanghai,and connecting circum-Bohai-Sea Economic Belt and Yangtze River Delta Economic Belt.The total length of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway is 1318 km,on which CRTS Ⅰ and CRTS Ⅱ slab ballastless track(1200 km)were laid(double line).

This book falls into ten chapters,the construction technology for CRTS Ⅱ slab ballastless track is introduced and explained detailedly as per working procedure,which includes structure design of ballastless track,track slab prefabrication production and polishing,foundation base treatment and acceptance,construction of waterproof layer on bridge,construction of sliding layer and high-strength plastic extrusion plate,construction of base plate on bridge,construction of supporting layer on subgrade and in tunnel,track slab laying and fine adjustment,cement emulsified asphalt mortar pouring,and lateral baffle construction.The key points are emphatically explained like labor organization,technology and process equipment and quality control,etc.The technical standard,design and construction method,and quality control measures mentioned in the book are gradually innovated,enriched and improved in the construction of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway,valuable experiences are also referred to and learned from other passenger dedicated railways either constructed or under construction,therefore,represent the highest level of CRTS Ⅱ slab ballastless track construction technology so far.

It must be noted that ballastless track was not laid on the long span steel girder of Jinan Yellow River Super Large Bridge and Nanjing Dashengguan Bridge due to technical reasons,which is somewhat pity.Nevertheless,the ballastless track technology is in the ascendant in China,its design,construction and technical standard are being developed and progressed in engineering practice,we have sound reasons to believe that Chinese scientific and research personnel,and engineering and technical staff are capable of solving this worldwide problem in the future and contribute more to ballastless track technology of high-speed railway.

There may still be some omissions and mistakes in this book,therefore valuable comments and suggestions from all readers are welcome for us to modify,supplement and improve in later edition.
